If you’re a golf lover, a golf cruise just makes sense. After all, what better way to see the world while also playing some of its finest courses? At Azamara, we’re proud to offer you the opportunity to tee off at some of the most outstanding courses on Earth. Having partnered with PerryGolf — a leading operator of international golf travel — we deliver an all-inclusive golf experience that’s so much more than par for the course.
Each year, we visit over 25 countries on our golf cruises, playing more than 80 courses — including 20 that are ranked among the top 100 in the world. Throughout it all, PerryGolf staff take care of the arrangements, from booking tee times and handling fees to ensuring your clubs are ready and waiting for you when you arrive. All you need to do is decide which courses you want to play, show up, and swing.
We’re here to help you with that first part. Here are seven golf courses to play on your next Azamara Golf Cruise.
Parador de El Saler
Not far from Valencia, golfers will find Parador de El Saler — a course lauded as one of the top 60 in the world and top three in all of Europe. Built in 1968, El Saler is the masterwork of the great Spanish golf architect Javier Arana. Located in the Albufera Natural Park, this course is perfectly integrated into the protected landscape it sits upon. You’ll find highly varied terrain as you play through this course — at times, it feels almost links-like in its style. Its raised greens can pose a threat to those hoping to finish under par — in fact, the whole course is known for its demanding degree of difficulty. Every single element is designed to test your skill and strategic thinking. Even the holes are laid out so no consecutive two are oriented in the same direction. This means you’ll need to adapt your game to the wind conditions at every hole. This design choice results in a complete lack of repetition — every hole feels like a new challenge and opportunity to shine.

Majlis Course of Emirates Golf Club
The Majlis Course takes its name from the Arabic word for “meeting place”, and it certainly lives up to that name — welcoming world-class golfers and enthusiasts for over 30 years. The flagship course at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, The Majlis features a par 72, 7,301-yard layout surrounded by indigenous species of flora and fauna. This is a purposeful choice, as part of the deal when His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum donated the land for the course to be built was that the desert flora be maintained in its natural state. The result is a course that has racked up accolade after accolade over the years. It’s been named Best Golf Course in the Middle East by Golf Digest (as well as Golf Digest readers) and has been honored to host the Dubai Desert Classic since 2001. In addition, English golfer Justin Rose has called The Majlis’ eighth hole one of his top nine favorite holes in the world!

Pearl Valley
Ranked a top three golf course in South Africa for 2022, Pearl Valley truly is a pearl for golf lovers. A Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, Pearl Valley is known for its absolutely stunning views. Situated in a valley and set against a backdrop of the Drakenstein Mountains, Jack Nicklaus noted, “This is one of the most spectacular settings in which I have designed a golf course” in 2003. As a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, The Golden Bear’s touches are all over this course, not far from Cape Town. There are lush green fairways, extraordinary bunkering, and breathtaking water features. Off the championship tees, the total length of the course is 6749 meters, and, much like Parador de El Saler, the course was designed with the winds in mind. All the par threes and par fives here play in different directions — meaning you’ll need to contend with varying conditions as you make your way through the course.

Bro Hof Slott
We’ve heard Bro Hof Slott, located northwest of Stockholm, referred to as one of the finest golf destinations on the planet, and we’re inclined to agree with the hype. This golf destination is home to two iconic courses, The Stadium Course and The Castle Course. The Stadium Course has been ranked number one in Sweden since opening in 2007. Hugging Lake Mälaren, in many ways, the course acts as a lakeside path full of breathtaking views that just so happens to offer a fantastic round of golf. In addition to the lake, and numerous water traps, the course is known for its long holes, well-placed bunkers, and sprawling greens.
Not to be outdone, the Castle Course — designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. — offers a level of play that will test any golfer’s skills. With its narrow fairways lined by trees, less wind, and tricky bunkers, the course evokes elements of Scottish Links, while still maintaining genuinely distinct character.
Jones Jr. once said of Bro Hof Slott, “Mother Earth must have created this area for a golf course.” We think he’s on to something here.

Dumbarnie Links
While playing the classic courses of the world is great, sometimes you just need to try something new. That’s where Dumbarnie Links comes into the picture. Scotland’s latest links course opened for play in 2020 and made an immediate impact. Less than a year after the first golfers teed off here, Dumbarnie was announced as the host for the Women’s Scottish Open. Designed by Clive Clark, Dumbarnie sits along a mile and a half of sea frontage — offering pristine panoramic views over the Firth of Forth. Don’t let the views distract you, however, or you could be in for a exacting day on the links. This course is known for its dual elevations — connected by a flowing escarpment — and plenty of opportunities to weigh risk versus reward before each stroke. That said, the course was ultimately designed to inspire rather than intimidate — a goal at which it undoubtedly succeeds.

Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club
Sometimes referred to as “The Pebble Beach of Asia”, Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club is tucked away on a rocky outcrop of the Sai Kung Peninsula. Not far from Hong Kong, you’ll find a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life here, as well as some of the top golf in all of Asia. The course is divided into the “Ocean Nine” and the “Highland Nine” and kicks off with what is described as “the most thrilling opening stretch in Chinese golf”. This stretch includes the signature number three hole, named one of the 500 Best Holes in the World. Then, moving from the Ocean Nine to the Highland Nine, you’ll be met with rolling terrain and a stunning backdrop of green hills and the South China Sea. Equal parts challenging and engaging, this course is not to be missed.
