Ports to Explore

Cast Your Sights on South Pacific Paradise

Bora Bora Tahiti Mt Otemanu

Discover the remote island gems of Samoa and Tonga, full of dreamy white-sand-laden vistas and rich Samoan culture. The average tourist doesn’t frequent these unbelievable tropical destinations, and our South Pacific Jewels Voyage leg of the cruise will bring you to two maiden ports. First, you’ll stop at the busy harbor of Pago Pago, the capital of American Samoa on Tutuila Island. Then, you can lace up your hiking boots and journey to the magnificent Matafao Peak, a National Natural Landmark that stands 2,142 feet tall. The ultra-friendly locals keep millennia-old traditions alive by practicing fa’a Samoa, or “the Samoan way.” A land of untouched natural splendor, Pago Pago is home to verdant rainforests, tropical birds and animals, and turquoise waters as far as the eye can see.

Mapu'a 'a Vaea Blowholes Tonga, Tongatapu Island

Our second maiden port, Nuku’Alofa, is the capital of Tonga. Enjoy a late stay and take in all this resplendent island has to offer. Nuku’alofa is home to the royal family of Tonga. So, it’s only fitting you visit the gates of the Royal Palace for a view of the colonial-style building. Next, get up close and personal with the Mapu’a’a Vaea Blowholes, or “The Chief’s Whistles,” a coral rock formation that shoots water 100 feet high as waves crash into the reef. Don’t miss this unforgettable trip through the warm currents of the Southern Hemisphere.

French Polynesian Waters & Soft Hawaiian Breezes

Honolulu with a vibrant red sunset

Azamara welcomes you to Oahu, bringing you back to the bustling port of Honolulu. The Hawaii & French Polynesia segment of the 2025 World Voyage will take you to this breathtaking Polynesian metropolis. A late stay allows ample time to take in all the wonders of Hawaii’s capital. As the Diamond Head volcano hovers in the distance, delight your senses with pristine oceanfront vistas and authentic food offerings, including savory kalua pig, sweet taro-infused poi, and fresh poke galore.

When you’re done relaxing on the sand and surf, pay a visit to Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve to catch a glimpse of the abundant green sea turtle population that uses the bay as their nesting area. If you’re looking for a little retail therapy, shop for keepsakes at the Ala Moana Center, said to be the largest open-air shopping center in the world. History buffs will marvel at the ‘Iolani Palace, the historical residence of Hawaiian royalty, built in 1882 for Kamehameha III. No matter where you decide to spend your time in paradise, the spirit of aloha will accompany you every step of the way.

Off the Beaten Path on Stewart Island

At Azamara, we know the road less traveled means even more opportunities for exploration. So, the New Zealand & Australia segment brings you to parts almost completely unknown. Visit Stewart Island, New Zealand’s third-largest and southernmost island, with under 500 inhabitants living in the port town of Oban. Over 80% of the island is part of Rakiura National Park, a nature reserve known for its impressive bird population, with over 25,000 kiwis roaming wild. Its Māori name, Rakiura, means glowing skies, describing the aurora australis, or the southern lights, that grace the horizon in an awe-inspiring spectacle. If you’re ready for an unbelievable trek through nature, visit the Rakiura Track. This 32-kilometer hiking circuit includes multiple stops where you can look across sweeping coastlines as you move through the verdant forest, passing by different historical landmarks. Your time on Stewart Island will give you a taste of what it’s like to live uninterrupted and among nature’s glory.

After gliding through a stretch of the Mediterranean, you’ll dock at the ever-captivating port of Nice for another late stay. Savor the vibrant French Riviera coastline as you walk through streets decorated with quaint shops, bustling cafes, charming beachfront eateries, and iconic palm trees swaying in the breeze. While in Nice, you can experience the high-octane thrills of the world’s finest automotive racing at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. Electric Bangkok Nights & Days Spent Exploring

Sunrise with Grand Palace of Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is a city that never sleeps or slows down. So, you need a little extra time to take in as much as possible. Azamara offers a two-night stay as part of the Treasures of Asia voyage where guests can experience the true essence of Bangkok. Explore the art, culture, food, and 400+ ornate Buddhist temples that define this high-energy city. Next, you’ll head out on excursions taking you deep into the countryside. First, you can trek to Chiang Mai, the largest city in northern Thailand perched on the mountaintops. This popular tourist destination is known for countless temples and mouth-watering street food. Visit Doi Inthanon National Park, a blend of cascading natural beauty and rugged terrain that features the highest peak in Thailand, standing 2,565 meters above sea level. At the top of the mountain, you’ll find a collection of sacred monuments dedicated to Thailand’s reigning King and Queen.

You can also explore the neighboring country of Laos, known for its Buddhist monasteries and French colonial architecture. Here, you can stop at Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the ethereal Kuang Si Waterfalls along the Mekong River. This is also the perfect place for travelers looking to explore incredible historical sites. The “Golden City Monastery” stands as Luang Prabang’s most historic and longstanding temple, while the Royal Palace Museum (National Museum) offers a window into the country’s past. Built in 1904, the Royal Palace Museum, also known as the National Museum, was once the residence of King Sisavangvong. Inside its architectural blend of traditional Lao and French styles, you’ll find relics from the area’s ancient history and rooms that maintain the original royal furnishings. This world journey is a true once-in-a-lifetime experience, checking off all your bucket list destinations, complemented by Azamara’s unparalleled guest care and attention to detail.
